Throne Drei WIP 4

Hi!
Sorry for (another -_-) ultra long break betwen updates but I was sick (actualy I still am...). The good news is that I finished Throne Drei, from now on known as Throne Null, not very creative but sounds nice, doesn't it? I took pictures of completed kit in a new lightbox, but my lightsource wasn't strong enough and my hands were all shakey, so they didn't come out well :/ I will post some of them anyway.
And here we go with the WIP:
I didn't took to many pictures, but showing evry layer of paint would be kinda pointles (if You think otherwise just say it, I will make them next time)
Most important thing I learned: NEVER mix paints from difrents brands, I mixed Tamiya and Agama paints, both acrylic, and when I sprayed topcoat wierd things started to happen, you can see it on some pics. This is actualy one of the reasons why I did weathering on this kit. At first I was going for out-of-factory-brand-new-look, but due to problems with mixed paints I decided to go all out on damaging and weathering.
The other reason has propably something to do with my skills at handpainting. I can't get nice clear look when painting white, other colors are a-ok, but when painting white there are always some brush-strokes visible or paint looks uneven. Next time I will try very light gray, maybe it will look better.
I almost forgot, my next project will be 1/144 HG Cherudim, I know that poll results were diffrent but after askings my friends I counted the votes and it turned out that ALL kits had exact same number of votes... So I decided to use my trusty coin and after few throws it was decided.

Ok, enough of those nonsenses, wip pics:

Throne Drei WIP 3

Hello evryone!
I didn't posted anything in few days because of some real life issues (nothing to worry about, just didn't had time because of them). So withut further dealying here we go:

Shield was actualy quite easy to mod, just cut the peg and addednew ones based on those on the riffle.

Then I washed all parts and started priming.

While waiting for the parts to dry I stared working on a base, i wanted to try something diffrent and here it is, i think that pics are self-explanatonary but if you have any questions just ask

i sharped those fins that will be on the shoulders
Image Hosted by ImageShack.us

used pla-plate to remove holes on parts that were conecting shields and scribed a line so now they look like thrusters
Image Hosted by ImageShack.us

Throne Drei WIP 1

Without any brakes i started another project :D
I realy like design of thrones and Drei is my favorite of them. I decided to change her (dunno why but Drei seems like "she" to me , maybe because of Nena?) to a close combat suit. I still haven't decided on a name, I was thinking about something along queen but in german (Koenigierin / Dame) but it just doesn't sound good IMO. I will gladly look at some ideas.

First thign in my "working proces" is designing, and for that it's good to find some inspiration, I've seen a very nice model of Nu gundam done in white-blue color scheme so i will go with those colours. Here are my quickly done linearts:

final form

Now let's see what I've done yesterday
legs:
some sanding on feets with removal of seam line, nothing fancy
Image Hosted by ImageShack.us

used pla-plate to take care of those ugly holes, also removed seam lines on upper leg and knee joint
Image Hosted by ImageShack.us

waist area:
pla-plate om front skirt, scribed some panel lines some sanding and cutting saml portion from top side
Image Hosted by ImageShack.us

more pla-plate on waist armor

cut backskirt into 3 parts, it was pissing me off that most of the time when I tried to utilize range of movement for legs in some nice pose the backskirt just kept poping of and flying somewhere, and it's not just this kit but Eins has the same problem, So I decided to make moveable backskirt, that way it will jsut move with the leg.

i driiled 2 holes in center part and inserted some 1-2 mm tube that i got from sis, they are from some kind of jevelery and have diffrent sizes, can be quite usefull

to the side parts i've done what can be seen below, i will propably end that tomorow
Image Hosted by ImageShack.us

Drei as well as Eins have a realy nice boxart in wich it has bended torso forward, unfortunetly kit can only rotate all the way around, so I cut some parts and added a spare polycap, with that i achieved quite nice bend, also insted of glueing parts of the torso togheter o added some cut styrene (or pla-plates - 2 names, same thing ) to hide seam lines

sanded sides of the torso for more slim look, glued top & bottom part and sanded to remove seam line and make it a little sharper, sanded those 2 anteneas on the back (nice & sharp)
Image Hosted by ImageShack.us

more sanding and sharpening to those 2 "ribs" wich will be on the sides of GN Drive
Image Hosted by ImageShack.us

added some pla-plate on backpack (the litle one, i won't be using those big-ass wings) to make thrusters more detailed

also done some work on left arm but it was kinda late (about 1 am) and didn't had strenght to take pictures.

Quite a lot for a one day, but today... oh man... I was at work for 12 hours... damn I'm exousted... I will write more tomorow, for today I will propably finish watching G Gundam, this series is quite diffrent but I like it
See ya
